Created in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania during the Great Depression under the brand name Fiesta , Fiestaware has always been known for their exceptional colors and the ability to mix and match pieces. After World War two, their popularity declined but the collector trade took off in the 1970's leading to the current resurgence of the contemporary line of Fiestaware. They are now manufactured in Newell West Virginia by The Homer Laughlin China Company which employs 1100 hard working Americans. On the issue of safety, their glazes are 100 percent lead free.
